Happy Birthday Kourtney Kardashian!

Businesswoman, socialite, and fashion icon Kourtney Kardashian turns 33 today!
Happy Birthday Kourtney!
What I love about this Armenian bombshell is that she seems to be the
most down-to-earth Kardashian.

Kourtney's a college graduate who lived in the dorms while attending the
University of Arizona (where she graduated from with a degree in Theater Arts and a minor in Spanish), she's worked at the family's clothing store, DASH, for many years, and is conscious of every decision she makes, yet knows how to let loose and have some fun!
This girl stole our hearts back in 2005 as the shy and sweet Kardashian sister on
Keeping Up With the Kardashian's on E!.
Since then Kourtney has really come out of her shell,
especially with her style...this girl isn't afraid to take fashion risks!

Kourtney is always looking so darn classy, whether she's at a
photo shoot, shopping, or going on a stroll.
She mixes classic pieces with bold colors or prints, and is always trying new things!
She's a mother to the cutest little boy, Mason, and is getting ready
to welcome a baby girl into the world in August.
Can't wait to see what Kourtney will be dressing her up in!

Happy Birthday Doll!

Outfit of the Day & Vegas Vacation!

Spring officially sprung this past Tuesday, and thankfully the weather here
in Wisconsin has been behaving...for now!  I recently returned from a spring break trip to Las Vegas, Nevada with two of my friends.
We explored the strip, did some shopping, and on our last night in town we were lucky enough be eating at the same restaurant that the Kardashian's dined at!
Overall I had an AMAZING time and miss Vegas already!
I thought I would share my outfit of the day, along with some photos from my trip to Vegas!

Blazer - Kohl's
Dress - Wet Seal

The Excalibur, where we stayed!

Holding a snake on the Vegas strip!

Our view of the Kardashian's, who dined about 30 feet away from us at Stack inside The Mirage!
Kim and Rob Kardashian, Kris, Kylie and Kendall Jenner were all in town for Rob's 25th Birthday.

I found this picture online from later that night!

What a stylish family!

Hope your spring break (if you had one) was fun!
Happy Spring everyone!

An Update on My Life!

Hello everyone!
It's been almost a month since my last post and I do apologize.
Things got crazy busy in my life with school, work,
and catching up with some great friends!
My goal is to update my blog at least once a week, so with midterms almost over
I hope to get back on track with that!
It seems spring has almost sprung here in Wisconsin,
and I thought I'd share some photos of my life lately!
(Besides work and school!)

My friend Cassondra (far left) came home for a weekend to visit.
In this picture we were at a friend's surprise party at a local
bar & grill with some other friends.

Dinner with my beautiful co-workers!
Please keep my friend and fellow fashionista Katie, center front, in your thoughts & prayers!
She was in a very serious car accident last week and is in the recovery process in a Neuro ICU.
She's a strong girl and making a lot of progress already!

Rocking my green Wet Seal pants.
Perfect for spring!

What have all of you been up to lately?

Tuesday Ten: My Favorite Chick Flicks

Valentine's Day is only a week away
and my original plan for this year was to ignore the holiday altogether.
But...c'mon...Valentine's Day is SUCH a cute holiday...
what would be the fun in ignoring it?!

So my plan for February 14th?
Make heart-shaped red velvet cake pops for my lovely
friends / coworkers & I,  grab a bottle of wine,
and spend the night watching chick flicks with some lady friends who
don't have plans for V-day!

Here are my ten favorite chick flicks!

1) Crazy Stupid Love

I think I'm in love with Ryan Gosling...just saying.

2)  The Notebook

Ooops...another Ryan Gosling movie. Coincidence? I think not...

3) A Walk to Remember

I cry every single time I watch this movie...but it is one of my all time favorites.

4) Bridesmaids

In my opinion, Kristen Wiig is probably THE funniest female ever.

5) The Wedding Planner

Back in the day I had dreams of being a wedding planner.
Every time I would rent movies with my family, I would choose this one!

6) Definitely, Maybe

This is just so cute, the little girl trying to figure out her dad's love story!
I also love Ryan Reynolds...a lot.

7) The Proposal

Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock, and a little Betty White.
What more could you ask for?

8) Valentine's Day

So many great actors & actresses...SUCH a cute movie!

9) He's Just Not That Into You

I have to admit - when I first saw this...I hated it.
But, after a few more times watching it, I appreciated the overall message!
& Ginnifer Goodwin is one of my favorite actresses.

10) The Twilight Saga

I'm sorry...that I'm not sorry!
Be nice!
I can't even lie..I love all the Twilight movies...ALL of them.

What are YOUR favorite chick flicks?
And what are your plans for Valentine's Day?

Outfit of the Weekend: Work Saturday!

I spent the day at work yesterday, and finally got to wear
a couple new items I purchased in January!
I went for the dressy yet casual look, pairing my black and brown polka-dotted dress
with black tights and my new pair of brown combat boots.
I'm in the process of growing out my hair so I chose to
wear it down and french braid my bangs.

Dress: Wet Seal - $15 on sale

Front:

Back:

Boots: Payless Shoes - $34.99

Ring: Charlotte Russe or Icing?

What do you think of my Saturday work look?
Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!

Happy Birthday Lauren Conrad!

The fabulous Miss Lauren Conrad turns 26 today!
Happy Birthday LC!

We fell in love with her back in 2004 on Laguna Beach,
and then got a closer look into her life on The Hills
as she moved away from home to begin her dream of being a fashion designer.

Since then she's written four books, launched several clothing lines,
and has continued to be my personal role model and fashion icon!

In 2009 I had the honor of meeting Conrad at a book signing
at the Mall of America, and she was as bubbly,
energetic, classy, and nice as I'd hoped she'd be!

Lauren announced this past October on her website that
she was working on Lauren Conrad Beauty,
and much like Lauren Conrad Style (my favorite book!),
it will be the ultimate guide for all things beauty!

I'm looking forward to purchasing this book in the future!

Happy Birthday Lauren,
Keep up the good work!

My December Birchbox!

Viewing an endless number of blogs over the past few years, I kept reading about
Birchbox -  a cute little box with four to five hand-picked luxury samples that
gets delivered each month for only $10 (per month)!
Subscribers receive points for every box, and once points start adding up,
they can be used to purchase full-sized products on the Birchbox website.
When signing up, they ask questions about what you're interested in sampling,
so it's very personalized which is great.  I signed up near the end of
November and got my first Birchbox within two weeks.
Obviously I was a little slow with posting about it, but here we are.
Better late then never!

1) amika Obliphica Hair Treatment  (regular size $34)
I was so excited to see this product when I opened my Birchbox because my straightener is made by amika! This oil treatment is perfect for before or after heat styling! Only a few drops adds shine, nourishes hair, and diminishes frizzes.  Plus, the smell is phenomenal.  I have a few spots on my head of especially frizzy hair, and this treatment left those problem areas very smooth.

2) AHAVA Mineral Body Lotion (regular size $24)
This lotion left my skin super soft! This mineral body lotion is super smooth because it's a light moisturizer and it sinks into the skin really quickly.  My favorite part about this product is actually the scent.  The natural aloe and witch hazel extracts leave a very fresh, energizing scent!

3) Incoco Nail Polish Applique (regularly $7.99 - $10.99)
When I opened my Birchbox I was not loving the print that I got for these nail polish appliques. But, I have used products like this in the past and had great results so I was happy to try out a new brand.
I also checked Incoco's website and found that they
have a good selection of other nail prints that I am a fan of.
I haven't had the chance to use these yet, but the application process looks easier
than other nail applique products I've used.

4) Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Birchbox Pink (regular size $20)
I love the fuchsia shade of this lip gloss, but found it to be more sticky than moisturizing.  I did like that there was no glitter, and that it's thin enough to apply one coat for a semi-sheer pigment, or build it for a hot pink shade.  I probably wouldn't spend $20 on it though.

Unfortunately, I was clicking through the Birchbox website earlier today and discovered they are currently SOLD OUT of subscriptions! :( But..there is a waiting list! I would definitely recommend
hopping on that list, because this is a great way to try out new products and possibly
find something you'll fall in love with!

UPDATE!
Here are some more ideas of how to wear colored jeans...
Over the weekend I purchased a pair of cobalt blue and kelly green jeans
from my work and I'm anxious to wear them!

Me in my new cobalt blue jeans from Wet Seal! What do you think of these outfit ideas?

Pastel jeans are in this spring season too!
This is my manager and fellow fashionista Terra
rocking Wet Seal's turquoise pair.

Hope the rest of everyone's weekend is spectacular!

Spring 2012 Trend Alert - Color Blocking

Color blocking is not a new trend, in fact it was very popular in Spring and Summer 2011.
But this trend is back and brighter then ever before!
For those of you that haven't heard of color blocking, the basic concept is to
wear 2-3 solid contrasting colors in an outfit.  But as Glamour.com warns, wear more than
3 colors and you may start looking like Rainbow Brite!
(But it all depends on the pairing choice, so don't think that's a rule!)

One of the easiest ways to begin wearing this trend in winter weather
is to buy the hottest item in retail right now- colored jeans!
Click the pictures to find the looks you love!

Forever 21

I know that Old Navy, American Eagle, and Wet Seal
all have a wide selection of colored jeggings/jeans as well!

Pair these colored bottoms with a bold colored top to achieve the color blocking trend.
Some great options are:
Old Navy

This top would look super cute with pretty much any colored jeans
and maybe a bright colored necklace!
Old Navy

My coworker Shayla has this shirt, and I loved it on her! She wore hers with basic denim,
but they would also look awesome with royal blue bottoms!

If you're not so daring and are wanting to ease into the trend, I would suggest pairing your colored jeans with basic colors such as black and white clothing like these celebrities did:

Happy color blocking! :)
